Pay Per Lead Services: Screened Enquiries, One Buyer, Billed Per Lead

For services companies that would like new customer enquiries and would rather not pay a retainer for the marketing that finds them. We run the campaigns for your trade in your county, screen each enquiry, and send it to you alone.

Ask about leads for your trade

No obligation. Tell us what you sell and where, and a person replies.

  • Billed per lead. You pay for each qualified enquiry we deliver, and nothing for the campaigns that produced it.
  • One lead, one buyer. An enquiry sent to you is not resold to the next three companies on somebody's list.
  • Bad leads go through a written rule. Wrong numbers, out-of-area requests and duplicates are checked against a dispute rule agreed before you buy.

01Pay for Results Marketing

Start here.

Pay per lead has a poor name with a lot of contractors, and most of them earned their opinion honestly: they bought leads that were sold to five other companies, half the numbers did not answer, and nobody would credit the bad ones. Our pay per lead services are built the other way around. We run the marketing, we screen the enquiry, we send it to one buyer, and a lead that is not a lead does not get billed.

02Pay for Results Marketing

A lead is a named person with a job you can do

A lead is a person who asked for help with a job you do, in a place you serve, which makes it a different thing from a click, a visitor or a page view. At the least it carries a name, a working way to reach them, where the job is and what they need done.

Most trades need more than that. A roofer needs to know whether the person owns the house. A property manager needs a door count. A general contractor wants a rough budget and a start date before driving out for an estimate. We agree those fields with you at set-up, trade by trade, so the lead arrives with what you would have asked on the first call.

What a lead is not matters as much. A tenant who cannot authorise work, a homeowner three counties outside your area, a job seeker using your form to send a CV and a salesperson pitching you are not leads, and they should never be on your bill.

Tell us the three questions you ask on every first call, and we will show you how they become the qualification rules for your leads.

03Pay for Results Marketing

How an enquiry gets from a search to your phone

We run the marketing for your trade in your county

The enquiries come from marketing we build and pay for: the same local search and paid search work we sell on its own as a service, pointed at one trade in one county. You do not pay for the clicks, the pages or the testing. You pay for the enquiries they produce.

Each enquiry is screened before it is sent

Every enquiry is checked against your rules before it reaches you: inside the area, a job type you take, contact details that look real, not a repeat of something already sent. Screening will not turn every lead into a sale, but it removes the ones that never could have become one.

It goes to you, and only you

A screened lead is sent to one buyer. Nobody else receives the same enquiry, so there is no race to call first and no customer comparing five quotes because five companies phoned within ten minutes. The speed that matters now is yours. A lead called back while the person is still thinking about the problem books far more often than one called the next morning.

What you tell us before the first lead

Set-up is where most of the waste in pay per lead is prevented. We ask for the rules you already run your business by, and write them down:

  • Your area. The cities, ZIP codes or drive radius you cover, and any you refuse.
  • Your jobs. The work you want more of, the work you take, and the work you never take.
  • Your hours. When someone can call a lead back, so leads arrive when they can be worked.
  • Your capacity. How many new jobs a week you can take on, so volume never outruns your crew.

Those four answers decide what we market, where we market it and which enquiries are screened out. They are also the rules any later dispute is checked against, which is why we would rather settle them in one conversation before you start than argue about a lead after it arrives.

Shared leads are why pay per lead has a bad name

The cheapest leads on the market are shared. One homeowner fills in one form, and that request is sold to several businesses at once. Every buyer then pays for a share of a customer they are competing for. The homeowner gets a run of calls in a few minutes, books whoever was fastest or cheapest, and the rest of the buyers have paid for nothing.

Shared leads also teach customers to shop on price, because the first thing they hear is several quotes. That is bad for any trade that wins on quality, warranty or trust, which is most of them.

Exclusive leads cost more per lead than shared ones. The reason is arithmetic: the marketing behind one exclusive lead is paid for by one buyer instead of five. Compare cost per booked job rather than cost per lead. A cheaper lead that you lose to the fastest dialler in town ends up costing you more than an exclusive one you close.

If you are buying shared leads now, bring us last month's numbers and we will help you work out what each booked job really cost.

What makes a lead bad, and what you do about it

Some leads fail no matter how carefully they are screened. A buyer is protected by having the rules written down before the first lead, so a dispute is a check against the record rather than an argument.

  • Wrong or disconnected contact details. If nobody can be reached at the number, it is not a lead.
  • Outside your service area. A job beyond the cities or ZIP codes you agreed to is not billable.
  • A job type you excluded. If you told us you do not do commercial work, a commercial enquiry is not your lead.
  • A duplicate. The same person asking about the same job twice is one lead, not two.
  • Fake, test or spam submissions. Junk entries, bots and pranks are not leads.
  • Not a customer at all. Job seekers, vendors and salespeople who fill in a form meant for customers.

Some things are not grounds for a dispute, and we will say so plainly. A real customer who chose someone else, or who decided not to go ahead, was still a real lead. Closing it is the selling half of the job, and that half is yours.

Why the record settles it

Every lead carries a record: when it came in, what the person asked for, where they said the job was and how they reached us. That record is what a dispute is checked against, rather than anyone's memory of a phone call. It protects you from paying for junk, and it protects the honest leads from being disputed because a job did not close.

To dispute a lead, you flag it with the reason, we check it against the rules and the record, and a lead that fails is not charged. How long you have to flag a lead and whether it is settled by a credit or a replacement are set in the terms, which are being finalised.

Next step

Ask for the dispute terms in writing before you buy anything, from us or anyone else.

Pay per lead, pay per call and a retainer, side by side

Pay per lead is one of three ways we can help a services company win work, and it is not always the right one. The question is what you want to pay for, and who carries the risk of a slow month.

Pay per lead Pay per call Retainer (SEO or ads)
You pay for Each qualified enquiry Each connected call past a minimum length The work, plus ad spend
When you pay When the lead is delivered When the call connects and lasts Every month
A slow month costs Us Us You
When it stops, you keep The customers you won The customers you won Rankings, listings, ad account, data
Best for Quoted, scheduled work Urgent, same-day work Building an asset you own

If your best jobs start with a phone call, our exclusive pay per call program is usually the better fit. If you want to build rankings that keep paying after the invoices stop, start with local SEO for your business instead. The pay for results overview puts all three in one place.

Nine trades and 64 counties to start

The county pages begin with nine home service trades in the major counties of California, Nevada, Texas, Washington, Florida and New York. Each trade has an index of every county we cover, grouped by state, and each county has its own page explaining demand, licensing and lead rules for that trade there.

For a trade-by-trade account of what each of those leads looks like, read our page on home services lead generation. If you are still comparing companies, our page on choosing the best lead provider lists the questions to ask every one of them.

Ask us

If your trade or county is not on these lists, ask anyway, because the nine trades are only the first set of county pages we built.

Who pay per lead suits, and who should skip it

Pay per lead works best for a business that already knows how to sell and wants more chances to do it. If that sounds like you, it is worth a conversation.

  • You answer enquiries quickly. Within the hour during business hours, ideally faster.
  • You have room for more work. New leads fill open slots rather than a waiting list.
  • You know your numbers. What a customer is worth and roughly how many enquiries it takes to book one.
  • You want volume without building a marketing department. We run the campaigns; you run the jobs.

It is the wrong fit if nobody can call a lead back the same day, if you are already booked out for months, or if your real goal is a brand and a search presence you own outright. In that case a retainer is the honest recommendation, and we will make it. Prices, minimums and billing terms are being finalised and will be published here; until then, they are agreed with each buyer before the first lead is sent.

What we would measure for your business.

The lines, opened upALL 6 UNSCORED UNTIL YOUR BUSINESS IS TESTED
Are the leads you buy today exclusive to you?A lead sold to several companies is a race to the phone, so exclusivity is the first thing scored.— / 100
How many of last month's leads could you actually reach? The contact rate shows whether the phone numbers and names you are paying for belong to real people who expect a call.— / 100
How long from enquiry to your first callback?Speed to first contact decides more booked jobs than the price of the lead does, and it is fully in your control.— / 100
What share of your leads came from outside your service area?Out-of-area leads are the most common waste in the industry and the easiest to stop with a clear area rule.— / 100
How many leads does it take you to book one job?Your own close rate turns a lead price into a cost per booked job, which is the number that matters.— / 100
Do you know which leads became repeat customers? In recurring trades one lead can be years of work, which changes what a lead is worth paying for.— / 100
Why there is no example card on this page. A page showing a glowing “A” for an unnamed happy client is a picture, not a measurement. The first grade you see from us will be about your own business.

10Pay for Results Marketing

The questions that come up every time.

How much does a lead cost?

It depends on the trade and the county, and we have not published prices yet. A roofing replacement lead in a large county costs more to produce than a pest control lead in a smaller one, because the marketing behind it costs more and the job is worth more to the buyer. We set the price per trade and county before you start, in writing, and it does not change without notice. Until the rate card is published, the price is shown on this page as pending.

What counts as a qualified lead?

A qualified lead is a real person who asked for a service you offer, inside the area you cover, with contact details that work. We agree the specifics with you at set-up: the job types you want, the ones you never want, the cities or ZIP codes you serve, and anything your trade needs to know before you call, such as whether the person owns the property. Anything outside those rules is not a qualified lead and should not be billed.

Can I dispute a bad lead?

Yes. A wrong or disconnected number, a request from outside your area, a job type you excluded, a duplicate of a lead you already received, or an obvious fake is grounds for a dispute. You flag it with the reason, we check the record, and a lead that fails the rules is not charged. The dispute window and whether you receive a credit or a replacement lead are set in the terms, which are pending on this page until published.

Are your leads shared with other companies?

No. A lead we send you is sent to you only. Shared leads are cheaper because the same homeowner is sold to several businesses at once, and every one of those businesses then races to call first and competes on price. We do not run that model. Whether you can also hold a trade in a county exclusively, so that no other buyer receives leads for that trade there at all, is a separate question we answer county by county.

Is there a minimum order or a contract?

The standard terms, including any minimum number of leads, the contract length and how much notice you give to stop, are being finalised and appear on this page as pending. What we can say now is that volume is agreed around your capacity. Sending a business more leads than it can call back in good time wastes the buyer's money and the customer's patience, and neither of those helps us keep a buyer.

Do you only work with home services companies?

Our county pages start with nine home service trades because those are the trades the program was built around first: Locksmiths, Roofers, HVAC & Air Conditioning Companies, Plumbers, Mobile Mechanics, Painters, General Contractors, Exterminators & Pest Control, Property Management Companies. Performance pay per lead marketing has been run for all types of services companies, and the list ends with "and many more". If your service is not listed, ask; the mechanics of a qualified, exclusive, disputable lead are the same.
