Low cost press release distribution, and what the major wires charge

For small businesses and new companies comparing press release prices before they pay for one. Here is what the major distribution services publicly charge per release, read from their own pricing pages, what that money does and does not buy, and how our lower-cost model works.

No obligation. Tell us what you sell and where, and a person replies.

  • Real prices, named sources. Every competitor figure on this page was read from that vendor's own pricing page, and the wires that hide their prices are marked quote only.
  • No guarantee anywhere in the market. At every price point in the chart, a per-release package buys distribution and leaves pickup to editors.
  • Even lower on the commission plan. Brands on our Commission Only Ecommerce Marketing Company plan get releases at an even lower cost.

01Affordable Press Release Distribution

Start here.

Most press release services sell the same thing in different sizes: a one-time distribution package, priced per release, with no guarantee that anyone runs your story. Low cost press release distribution should mean paying for the work a release does, with nothing charged for reach you cannot see. Below is what the major services publicly charge, where we found each price, and how our model is different.

02Affordable Press Release Distribution

Most of the market charges per release, with no guarantee of pickup

The standard way to buy a press release is a package for one release. You pay up front, the release is sent to a network of sites, feeds and sometimes journalists, and the job is done. If nobody runs it, you have still paid. If you have more news next month, you pay again.

At every price point we found, the package buys distribution. Coverage is never part of it. The higher tiers add syndication, journalist lists, faster turnaround or more words. None of them can promise that an editor or publisher will run the story, because that is not theirs to sell.

Nothing about this is hidden; it is simply how distribution works. The problem is that small companies are rarely told it plainly before they pay hundreds of dollars for a single announcement, and they judge the result by traffic it was never going to bring.

What the major distribution services charge

These are the published prices for a single release, or a release bundle where that is how the vendor sells it. Every figure was read from the vendor's own pricing page on 29 October 2026, and package names are as the vendor lists them. Each vendor has more tiers than shown here; we have included its entry point, its top tier, and the tiers in between that change what you get.

24-7 Press Release Simple Post $29 per release Posted on the vendor's own website only, with no additional distribution

Get Found Marketing Press release Quoted by email or phone Written or edited for you, approved before you pay, published in our archive

Three of the best known names in the business, PR Newswire, Business Wire and GlobeNewswire, do not publish a price at all. You learn what they cost by asking for a quote. Third-party blogs print estimates for some of them, but those estimates conflict with each other, so we do not repeat them here as anyone's price.

Our own row says quoted by email or phone because that is how we price a release: after we have read what you are announcing, and always before you commit.

04Affordable Press Release Distribution

What the price buys, and what it never buys

Reading across the chart, one pattern repeats. As the price rises, you are buying more of four things: reach, people, speed and length.

Reach

The jump from a basic post to a distributed release is mostly syndication. PRWeb's Standard package adds syndication to 1,200+ sites powered by PR Newswire. 24-7 Press Release's Mass Media Visibility package includes PR Newswire national distribution. Newswire.com's Feature package lists AP News, Yahoo and Nexstar. Syndication puts your release on more pages, which is different from putting it in front of more people who care.

People

Some tiers add a journalist or industry list. PRWeb's Advanced package, at $360 per release, adds one journalist list and proofreading. eReleases builds its packages around industry lists, from one on Buzz Builder to three on PR Pro. A list is worth paying for only if your news is genuinely relevant to the people on it.

Speed

Turnaround is sold as a feature. PRWeb's Basic lists a 48-hour turnaround, while its Advanced tier lists 24 hours. For most small company news, a day either way changes nothing.

Length and extras

Word limits and add-ons are where the headline price grows. eReleases' Buzz Builder is 400 words and PR Pro is 600. eReleases lists writing as a $300 add-on, and extra words or local saturation at $150 each. Bundles change the maths again: EIN Presswire's Pro+ is $499 for 5 releases, and its Corporate package is $999 for 15.

What it never buys

None of it buys editorial pickup: a journalist choosing to write about you, or an editor choosing to run your story. Where a higher tier names sites, that is your release syndicated as you wrote it, and nobody has chosen to cover it. The same is true at $29 and at $965.

Ask us

send us the package you were about to buy and the news you were going to send, and we will tell you which of those four things your announcement actually needs.

Why both ends of the market disappoint

The cheapest tiers and the most expensive tiers let small companies down in opposite ways.

At the bottom, a basic post can be exactly what it says. 24-7 Press Release describes its $29 Simple Post in its own words: "Add your news on our website only with no additional distribution." PRLog also lists an ad-supported tier at $0, hosted on PRLog itself. That can be enough when your goal is a dated public record, but it is not distribution, and buying it expecting distribution leads to disappointment.

At the top, a $965 release with national syndication can land your announcement on many pages that nobody in your market reads. For a local launch, a new location or a first hire, national reach is paying for an audience that will never buy from you.

The sensible middle is a release written properly as news and sent to a reach that matches it. It should also live somewhere permanent that you control. That is the gap our model is built for, and it is why we start with the announcement rather than the package.

Next step

tell us who you actually want to see your news, and we will tell you what reach that needs before you spend anything.

How our low cost model works

We built our press release distribution for small and new companies that cannot justify hundreds of dollars per announcement, and should not have to. The process is short and you never pay for something you have not read.

  • You send the news. Submit your announcement through our press release form, with the page you want to link to and a media contact.
  • We write or edit it. From a few bullet points or your own draft, we produce the headline, dateline, body, quote, boilerplate and contact block.
  • You approve the wording and the price. You read the finished release and its price, and only after that do we distribute it or bill you.
  • It is distributed and archived. The release goes out on the date you choose and is published on a permanent, dated page in our press release archive.

If your company is brand new, our guide to press release distribution for new companies covers what makes a first announcement news and how to time it. For the full picture of how our releases work, see the affordable press release distribution overview.

Our price per release, the distribution network and the turnaround are pending, and the chart above says so. When they are set, they will appear in that row, next to the competitors, where you can judge them.

07Affordable Press Release Distribution

Even lower cost on the commission only plan

For select brands and products, Get Found works on a different footing. We developed that footing ourselves and named it "Free Online Marketing First" and then we "Grow Together Later". The strategy is built together, paid on commission and run to a plan of action we both agree.

Our releases are even lower cost for brands on our Commission Only Ecommerce Marketing Company plan. Announcements such as launches, new ranges and new stockists become part of the growth plan rather than a separate purchase each time, sitting alongside email marketing and custom AI.

That last pairing is easy to overlook. A release reaches strangers. Your list reaches people who already bought from you, and they are the ones most likely to act on your news. Sending every announcement through ecommerce email marketing to the list you own is how a release earns money as well as a record. They say the "Money is in the List", and a release is good news to send it.

if you run an ecommerce brand with regular announcements, ask us whether the commission plan fits and what your releases would cost on it.

How to compare any press release quote

Whoever you buy from, these questions turn a price into something you can judge.

  • What is the total for my release? Ask for the package price plus writing, extra words, images and regional add-ons, in writing.
  • Where exactly will it be published? Ask for a list of sites or a sample report from a recent release, not a reach number.
  • Will I get a report of where it appeared? Ask for placements you can open yourself, beyond a note that it was sent.
  • Who writes the headline? A release written as an advert is wasted at any price.
  • Does it have a permanent page? You want a stable, dated address you can link to next year, which a spot in a feed cannot give you.
  • Do I need this reach? Match the distribution to the people who will act on your news.
  • What is promised, and what is not? If anyone promises coverage, ask what happens when it does not appear.

Ask those of any vendor in the chart, and of us. When our price is set, it will be answered in the same terms, and when you are ready to send your news, contact our team and we will start with the announcement.

10Affordable Press Release Distribution

The questions that come up every time.

How much does press release distribution cost?

On the published rate cards we read, a single release runs from $29 for a basic post with no additional distribution, such as 24-7 Press Release's Simple Post or PRLog's Basic tier, to $965 for Newswire.com's Feature package. Mid-range distributed packages such as PRWeb's Standard at $245 or eReleases' Buzz Builder at $399 sit in between. PR Newswire, Business Wire and GlobeNewswire do not publish prices at all, so you only learn the cost by asking for a quote. Add-ons for writing, extra words and images can raise any of these.

Do any of these services guarantee coverage?

No. Every package in the chart sells distribution: sending your release to sites, feeds, syndication partners and sometimes journalist lists. Some higher tiers name the sites where your release will be syndicated, but that is your release reposted as written, which is different from a journalist choosing to cover it. Whether an editor runs your story is their decision, and it is not part of any package. The higher tiers buy wider distribution and, in some cases, faster turnaround or a journalist list, but they still charge per release with no guarantee of pickup. Anyone who promises coverage for a fee should be asked exactly what they mean.

Why do PR Newswire, Business Wire and GlobeNewswire not show prices?

They sell on quotes rather than public rate cards, so the price depends on the region, the length, the media attached and often a membership or account. That is why the chart shows them as not published, quote only. Third-party blogs print estimates for some of them, but the figures conflict with each other, so we do not repeat them as anyone's price. If a wire's price matters to your decision, ask that wire for a written quote for your exact release.

Is the cheapest press release distribution good enough?

It depends on what you need the release to do. The cheapest tiers often post your release on the vendor's own site with little or no further distribution, which may be all a small announcement needs if your goal is a dated, public record. If you want regional or industry outlets to see it, you are paying for distribution, and the question becomes whether that reach matches your news. The expensive mistake is buying national reach for local news.

What will Get Found charge for a release?

We quote each release by email or phone rather than printing a rate card, so our row in the chart says so instead of carrying a number. What is set is the model: we write or edit the release, you approve the wording and the price before you pay, and every release is published on a permanent page in our archive. Brands on our commission only plan get releases at an even lower cost.

How current are the prices in this chart?

Every published figure was read from the vendor's own pricing page in October 2026. Wire prices change, packages get renamed, and promotions come and go, so check the vendor's page before you buy. The three quote-only wires were confirmed as not publishing a price through independent comparisons of distribution services. If you spot a figure that has changed, tell us and we will re-check it.
