Slovenian Backlinks Written in Real Slovenian
For businesses selling to Slovenes, at home and in the Slovene communities of Italy and Austria. We write in Slovenian rather than a neighbouring language, place articles on outlets with real readers, and fix the small technical mistakes that keep Slovenian pages out of Slovenian results.
“Slovenian links only help when they come from Slovenian sites close to your subject.”
No obligation. Tell us what you sell and where, and a person replies.
- Slovenian, not Croatian. Neighbouring South Slavic languages look close on paper, and readers spot a stand-in in one sentence.
- Č, š and ž kept intact. In the text and the anchors, with one clear rule for the URLs.
- A small market handled with care. Links spread across the right outlets, at a pace that reads as natural.

Slovenia is a small market with its own language, and that language is not interchangeable with any of its neighbours. The best way to build "Slovenian backlinks, but better yet, backlinks for your Slovenian-language site" is to contact us directly. Several things have to be right before a single Slovenian article is placed.

Slovenian is not Croatian with different spelling
Slovenian belongs to the South Slavic family alongside Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian, and many businesses treat them as one market. They are not, and Slovenes notice in the first sentence. Vocabulary differs, grammar differs, and Slovenian keeps a dual form, so two of something is said differently from one or three. Text written by a Croatian speaker, or produced by a tool that guesses, reads as foreign.
The same applies to links. A Croatian article linking to your Slovenian page comes from a site read in another country, in another language, with anchors that do not match how Slovenes search. Search engines can see all of that.
- Write the page in Slovenian. By a Slovene, for Slovenes, not adapted from Croatian or Serbian material.
- Build links from Slovenian outlets. Sites written in Slovenian and read in Slovenia or by Slovene communities.
- Keep each neighbour separate. If you sell in Croatia too, that is its own set of pages and its own set of links.
if your Slovenian pages started as Croatian or Serbian text, we can have a native writer check them before we build anything.

sl, not si: the tag that labels a page as Sinhala
Slovenia's domain is .si and its country code is SI, so it is natural to assume the language code is si too. It is not. si is Sinhala, a language of Sri Lanka. Slovenian is sl. A site that tags its Slovenian pages hreflang="si" is telling search engines they are in the wrong language, and the tag is either ignored or sends the page to the wrong audience.
The fix is simple once someone looks: sl for the language, sl-SI if you also want to name the region, and every language version listing the others. We check this, along with your HTML language attribute and any translation plugin settings, because links pointing at a mislabelled page do less than they should.
The domain itself is a separate question. A .si address, run by the registry attached to Slovenia's academic and research network, is a clear local signal for a business trading in Slovenia. A .com with a properly tagged Slovenian section can rank as well, provided Slovenian sites link to it.
send us your site and we will check your Slovenian language tags as part of the link audit.

Č, š and ž: in the text, the anchors and the URLs
Slovenian uses three letters with a caron: č, š and ž. They change meaning, and dropping them makes a page look careless. Readers type them on Slovenian keyboards and phones, so anchors should include them too.
URLs need a decision. Most Slovenian sites strip the carons in addresses, turning č into c, š into s and ž into z, and that is fine if it is consistent. Problems start when one page keeps the letters, another strips them and a third uses a different spelling, so links point at several versions of the same thing. We pick one rule, apply it, and make sure the links we build point to the address that stays.
we can review your Slovenian URLs and anchors and settle one spelling rule before links go live.

A small web where relevance shows
In a market this size, every link is more visible. For most commercial searches only a modest number of Slovenian pages compete, and each relevant Slovenian link counts for a lot. The other side is that the pool of outlets is smaller, so a run of links from the same few sites stands out to search engines and to any competitor who looks.
None of this changes the basic rule. Backlinks still matter no matter the date. Content, speed and structure matter too, and we look at all of them. But without some really good backlinks, a Slovenian page will never pop up in search, will not rank and will be drowned out by the competition. Links are still a major indicator that a page should even be looked at by search engines, and the same is true of AI search: Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Copilot draw on pages others already cite.
tell us the Slovenian searches you care about, and we will show you which Slovenian sites link to the pages already ranking.

The translated page that never ranks
The usual story: a business adds a Slovenian version of its site and waits for traffic. The domain may have plenty of English links, but no Slovenian site points at the Slovenian pages. With English anchors on sites read abroad, search engines see a translation with nothing local behind it. A Slovenian competitor with a few Slovenian links outranks it.
Slovenian pages change that when they are written properly and cited by Slovenian news, regional portals and niche blogs. Those look like part of the Slovenian web, and they are the ones search engines show to Slovenes.
if your Slovenian section has been live without results, we will count its Slovenian links and plan the first ones.

The kinds of Slovenian sites that pass value
Slovenian outlets we place with have editors and a real audience:
- National news portals. Read across the country, where expert articles and features can earn a place.
- Regional and local news. Maribor, Celje, Kranj, Novo Mesto and the coast around Koper, where regional businesses find their customers.
- Niche blogs. Slovenian writers on outdoors and mountains, food and wine, home, family, technology and personal finance.
- Slovene community media abroad. Slovenian-language outlets for the communities in Italy around Trieste and Gorizia, and in Austrian Carinthia.
- Directories and associations. Slovenian business listings and member pages that confirm who you are.
Every Slovenian placement our writers and outlets make has to pass one test: no spammy sites, and nothing unrelated to your product or service. We work with Slovenian press contacts, niche bloggers, influencers and sites that Slovenes genuinely visit. Every article is written by a native Slovenian author.
tell us your industry and the regions you sell in, and we will tell you which outlet types fit.

Planning Slovenian links with us
We look at who ranks for your Slovenian searches and who links to them, agree topics, and pair each topic with an outlet whose readers care about it. Links go out at a pace that suits a small market, inside articles a Slovene would read for the subject alone, so the Slovenian profile can get through Google updates and a competitor's attacks intact. You deal with Get Found directly, with no middleman, and link building is our core service.
If you sell across the region, our Croatian link building page, backlinks for Bosnian-language sites and the Italian backlinks page cover the neighbouring markets. Our backlink building services page explains the category, the page on matching link strategy to budget covers planning, and the niche and language link service lists the rest. To start, write to us with your site and the Slovenian searches you want to win.

What we would measure for your business.
The parts of this page we will not guess at.

The questions that come up every time.
Can Croatian backlinks help my Slovenian website?
They help the domain a little, but they are a poor fit for Slovenian pages. Croatian and Slovenian are related, yet they are separate languages with different grammar, vocabulary and readers, and Slovenes notice Croatian immediately. Search engines also see that the linking site is read in another country. We build Croatian links for Croatian pages and Slovenian links for Slovenian ones.
Is Slovenia too small for link building to make a difference?
No. Smaller markets usually have fewer well-linked pages competing for each commercial search, so a relevant Slovenian link moves a page further than an English one could. The care is in the pattern: there are fewer outlets, so links have to be spread sensibly and earned through real articles, or they look arranged.
What is the right hreflang for Slovenian?
sl for the language, with sl-SI where you also target Slovenia as a region. A frequent mistake is si, which matches the country's domain and its country code but is actually the language code for Sinhala, spoken in Sri Lanka. A page tagged si is labelled as the wrong language and may be shown to the wrong audience or ignored.
Do backlinks still matter in Slovenia?
Yes. They are not the only factor, since content, speed and site structure count too, but they are still one of the strongest signals search engines and AI answer tools use to decide which pages deserve to be seen. A Slovenian page with no Slovenian links seldom reaches the first page, however good its content.
Should I use a .si domain?
If you trade in Slovenia, a .si address is a clear local signal to buyers and search engines. A .com with a Slovenian section, correct hreflang and Slovenian links can also rank well, and suits businesses selling in several countries. For outlets we judge by readers, not by the domain ending.
Who writes the Slovenian articles?
Native Slovenian writers who know the outlet and how its readers write. Slovenian has features its neighbours lack, such as the dual form for things that come in twos, and a translation tool or a non-native writer gets them wrong. Editors at outlets worth having reject that text. A Slovenian article should be one the editor would run with no link in it.
Ask yours. The form reaches the people who would be doing the work.
