No obligation. Tell us what you sell and where, and a person replies.

  • One language, several markets. Outlets in Tirana, Prishtina, Tetovo and the diaspora, chosen for the country you actually sell in.
  • Anchors people type. Albanian searches often drop ë and ç, and a natural link profile reflects that.
  • Native authors. Articles written by Albanian speakers who know the outlet's readers and the local vocabulary.

Start here.

Albanian is read in several countries and in a diaspora spread across Europe and North America. The best way to build "Albanian backlinks, but better yet, backlinks for your Albanian-language site" is to contact us directly. Before we place anything, we work out which Albanian readers each link should reach.

02Backlinks Building Service

One language, read in several countries

Albanian is the language of Albania and of most people in Kosovo. It is spoken widely in western North Macedonia, in parts of Montenegro and in the Preševo valley in southern Serbia. Large Albanian communities live in Italy, Greece, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. Readers in each of these places follow their own outlets and see their own search results.

That is why we start by asking which country your buyers are in, and choose sites after that. A Tirana retailer needs links from outlets read in Albania. A Prishtina clinic needs Kosovo outlets. A money-transfer or travel business serving the diaspora needs Albanian-language sites read in Milan, Zurich or New York.

  • Country first. We map where your buyers are before we choose a single outlet.
  • Outlets read in that country. Links from sites whose readers live where your customers live.
  • Pages to match. If your offer differs by country, each country version gets its own page and its own links.

Backlinks still decide which Albanian pages get seen

Most years someone announces that backlinks have stopped mattering, and the same established sites go on ranking anyway. Backlinks still matter no matter the date, because a page no one links to gives search engines very little reason to show it. Links are not the only factor, and we work on content, speed and structure as well. But without some really good backlinks, an Albanian page will never pop up in search, will not rank and will be drowned out by the competition.

AI search also treats links as a major indicator of whether an Albanian site deserves a look at all. When an AI Overview, ChatGPT search or Perplexity answers a question in Albanian, it draws on sources other sites already cite.

Albanians often type without ë and ç

Albanian uses the Latin alphabet with two special letters, ë and ç. Many people leave them out when they type, especially on phones, so a search for shërbime (services) is often typed as sherbime, and çmime (prices) as cmime. A keyword plan that ignores the plain spellings misses many real searches.

  • Correct spelling on your page. Your content is written properly, with ë and ç, because that is what readers and editors expect.
  • Plain forms in the plan. Keyword research covers both spellings, and some anchors use the plain forms where they sit naturally.
  • Brand name fixed. Your brand is spelled one agreed way across every article, so mentions build on each other.
Ask us

we can check how your customers type your main searches, with and without the special letters, before we plan anchors.

Gheg, Tosk and the vocabulary of each country

Standard written Albanian is based on Tosk, spoken in the south. Much of the north and most of Kosovo speak Gheg varieties, and everyday vocabulary differs between countries, including borrowed words from Italian, Greek, Serbian or German depending on where readers live. An article that reads naturally in Tirana can sound slightly off in Prishtina.

So we match authors to outlets. A writer who knows the outlet's country writes in the standard language with the vocabulary its readers use. Editors at good outlets are far more willing to accept articles written this way, and readers are more likely to finish them.

Next step

tell us which countries matter most and we will match native authors to each one.

The Albanian outlets worth a link

We look for sites with editors and real readers, in each market:

  • National news portals in Albania and Kosovo, many of them run alongside television channels, where expert articles earn a place.
  • Albanian-language media in North Macedonia and Montenegro, read by communities a regional business wants.
  • City and regional sites for places such as Durrës, Shkodër, Vlorë, Prizren and Tetovo.
  • Niche blogs in Albanian on technology, health, food, family, travel, cars and business.
  • Diaspora sites read by Albanian communities in Italy, Greece, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
  • Directories that confirm your business name, address and service.

Get Found works with a large network of authors and outlets across these markets. We turn down weak or spammy sites that have nothing to do with what you sell, and our backlink building services page explains how that rule shapes every placement.

Why a translated page with English links will not rank

Many businesses add an Albanian translation and leave it there. The domain's links are English, the anchors are English and the sites behind them are read in English. Search engines see an Albanian page that no Albanian site has mentioned. Machine translation makes it worse, because readers and editors spot it at once.

What changes that is native writing on the page plus articles by native authors on Albanian outlets that link to it. When Albanian sites write about the page and link to it, search engines begin to treat it as part of the Albanian web, and it can compete for rankings.

On the technical side, hreflang uses sq for Albanian, with country versions such as sq-AL or sq-MK where your offer differs. Kosovo's country code sits outside the official list that hreflang draws on, so for Kosovo we rely on language targeting and links from Kosovo outlets rather than a country tag. A .al domain says Albania clearly, but a .com serving several countries is often the better fit.

If you sell across the region, see our Serbian backlinks page, our Greek link building and links for Croatian-language sites.

How we build Albanian links with you

We map who ranks for your Albanian searches in each country and who links to them, agree topics with you, match each topic to an outlet whose readers care, and commission a native author from that country. Every link sits in an article worth reading on its own.

Our relationships are with news and PR outlets in Albania and Kosovo, the owners of niche Albanian blogs, influencers, and sites with a real audience whose links are worth something, so your profile can hold up through Google updates and any attack a competitor tries. Albanian clients reach that network by working directly with a leading provider of Backlink Building Services. Read how we shape a link plan around your budget, see our service for niche and language links, and when you are ready, contact us with your site and target searches.

The questions that come up every time.

Do backlinks still matter for Albanian websites?

Yes. They are not the only thing search engines look at, but they remain one of the clearest signs that a page deserves attention at all. Albanian results for many commercial searches are less crowded than English ones, so relevant Albanian links can make a visible difference. AI answer tools work the same way: they tend to cite pages other sites already point to.

Should my anchors use ë and ç or leave them out?

Both, in proportion. Your page should be written with correct Albanian spelling, including ë and ç. Many people type searches without them, so some anchors and topics should reflect the plain forms, used naturally inside sentences. A profile that only ever uses the correct spelling, or only the plain one, looks less natural than one that mirrors how people really write.

Is Albanian the same in Kosovo and Albania?

The written standard is shared, and most formal content follows it. Everyday speech differs: much of Kosovo and northern Albania speaks Gheg varieties, while the standard is based on Tosk, spoken in the south. Vocabulary and some expressions differ between countries. We match authors to the outlet's country so the article reads naturally to its readers.

Do I need a .al domain?

No. A .al domain signals Albania clearly, but many Albanian businesses and outlets use .com, and a site selling across Albania, Kosovo and the diaspora is often better served by one domain with correct hreflang and links from each market. We recommend a domain once we know where you sell.

Can you reach Albanian speakers in Italy, Germany or the United States?

Yes, through Albanian-language community sites, diaspora news and niche blogs read in those countries. Readers abroad are shown results for the country they live in, so links from sites read there help your Albanian page reach them. Where your offer differs by country, separate pages with their own targeting make sense.

Who writes the Albanian articles?

Native Albanian authors, chosen for the country of the outlet. Machine-translated Albanian is easy to spot and editors at worthwhile outlets turn it down. Every article is written to be worth reading on its own, which is what keeps it published and keeps the link counting through updates.
