Spanish Backlinks for Spain, Latin America and the US

For businesses selling to Spanish speakers in Spain, across Latin America or in the United States. We settle which Spanish you are writing for, earn links from outlets read in those countries, and send each one to the version of your page built for that reader.

“Pick the Spanish-speaking country first, then the outlets its readers trust.”

No obligation. Tell us what you sell and where, and a person replies.

  • The variant question first. Spain, Mexico, Argentina and the US Hispanic market read and search differently, and links follow the reader.
  • Country domains used properly. A link from a .es site speaks to Spain; a .com.mx link speaks to Mexico. We plan which you need.
  • Native authors per country. Writers from the market itself, so the vocabulary, the accents and the tone pass an editor's eye.

Start here.

Spanish is one language and dozens of search markets. The best way to build "Spanish backlinks, but better yet, backlinks for your Spanish-language site" is to contact us directly. Every Spanish link plan we write starts with one question about the reader.

Which Spanish? The question that comes before any link

A buyer in Madrid, a buyer in Guadalajara and a buyer in Miami all read Spanish, but they do not search the same way. The words change from country to country, and so do the outlets each reader trusts. In Spain you buy an ordenador and a coche, and you talk to vosotros. In Mexico it is a computadora and a carro, and in Argentina an auto and the vos form: vos tenés rather than tú tienes. A phone is a móvil in Spain and a celular across most of Latin America.

None of that matters much to a dictionary. It matters a great deal to a search engine matching a query to a page, and to an editor deciding whether an article belongs on their site.

  • Pick the audience before the outlets. Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile and the US Hispanic market can each justify their own page and their own links.
  • Or write a careful neutral Spanish. If one page has to serve everyone, we avoid the words that mark it as one country's and spread links across several markets.
  • Match the author to the outlet. An article for a Chilean blog is written by someone who reads Chilean blogs.

One language, many country domains

Each Spanish-speaking country has its own country-code domain, and many businesses use a second level under it: .es for Spain, .mx and .com.mx for Mexico, .com.ar for Argentina, .cl for Chile, .pe and .com.pe for Peru. A link from a well-read .es site tells Google something about Spain that a link from a .com.mx site does not.

Colombia is the exception worth knowing. Its .co ending is so popular with companies everywhere that Google treats it as a generic domain, like .com. Only .com.co reads as Colombian. When we judge an outlet we look at its readers, its language and its topics before the last letters of its address.

Your own targeting matters as much as the links. Google's hreflang documentation asks for a language code plus, optionally, a two-letter country code, so es-ES, es-MX, es-AR and es-US all work. The es-419 code for Latin America, common in other software, is not something Google says it reads, so we list the countries instead. Search Console no longer offers a country-targeting switch for generic domains, which leaves the domain, the hreflang and links from the right country to do that job.

Backlinks still decide who gets seen, in Madrid or in Monterrey

You will read, every year, that links no longer count. They do. Backlinks matter no matter the date. They are not the only factor: what you publish, how fast it loads and how the site is built all play a part. But without some really good backlinks a Spanish page will never pop up in search, will not rank, and will be drowned out by competitors who have them.

The same goes for AI search. Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Copilot lean on pages the rest of the web already cites. Links remain a major indicator that a site should even be looked at, by a crawler or by an answer engine. A Spanish page that no Spanish-language site mentions has little reason to be the one quoted.

Ask us

send the Spanish searches you care about, country by country, and we will show you what kind of links the pages ranking for them have earned.

Accents, the ñ and the URLs that drop them

Spanish uses accented vowels (á, é, í, ó, ú), the ü in words like pingüino, and the ñ. Most people type them in searches, many do not, and Google usually folds the two together. Your slugs and anchors should still be deliberate. Many content systems strip the ñ to an n, and a careless slug can turn diseño into diseno, or año into a different and rather unfortunate word.

We agree one spelling for your brand and your main keywords, decide whether URLs keep or drop the accents, and write anchors the way a native reader would expect to see them in running text: accented, natural, and varied rather than repeated word for word.

Next step

if your Spanish URLs were generated automatically, we can review them for broken accents before more links are pointed at them.

The outlets worth a Spanish link, country by country

Get Found has a large network of authors and outlets, and the Spanish side of it is organised by country, because that is how readers are organised. We look for sites with real traffic and real editors:

  • National news and magazines. The papers and digital titles read across Spain, Mexico, Colombia or Argentina, where expert commentary and features earn their place.
  • Regional and city press. Spain's autonomous communities each have strong regional dailies, and Latin American cities from Monterrey to Medellín have their own news sites.
  • US Spanish-language media. Outlets serving Hispanic readers in the United States, for businesses selling there in Spanish.
  • Niche blogs. Spanish-speaking writers on technology, food, travel, finance, family, motoring and dozens of other subjects.
  • Directories and associations. Country business listings and trade bodies that confirm your name, location and line of business.

Spam sites and Spanish-language sites unrelated to your business are off the table. A recipe blog linking to a law firm helps nobody, in any language.

Why translating your English site is only half the job

Many businesses translate their English site into Spanish, publish it, and wait. The domain has plenty of English links and no Spanish ones. Every anchor is English, every linking site is read by English speakers, and nothing in the Spanish-speaking web points at the new pages. To a search engine, that looks like a translation nobody in the market asked for.

A Spanish page cited by Spanish-language news, blogs and directories in its target country looks like part of that country's web, and search engines rank it accordingly. It is also why we never place machine-translated articles: editors at worthwhile outlets reject them, and readers spot them in a sentence.

How we build Spanish links with you

Country comes first: for each one we map the pages ranking for your searches and the sites linking to them. We agree topics, match each to an outlet whose readers care, and commission a native author from that country. We place each link inside an article written for that country's readers first, so each country's profile can survive Google updates and a competitor's attempts at sabotage.

That comes from working directly with a leading provider of Backlink Building Services instead of a reseller. Spanish is one part of our backlink building services; the backlink company page explains how we fit a plan to your budget, and the service for every niche and language lists the rest. If you sell in Catalonia, see our Catalan link building page. For the rest of Latin America, backlinks for Brazilian sites covers Brazil, and Portuguese backlinks covers Spain's neighbour. When you are ready, send us your site and your target countries.

What we would measure for your business.

The lines, opened upALL 6 UNSCORED UNTIL YOUR BUSINESS IS TESTED
Which Spanish-speaking countries do your buyers actually live in?Spain, Mexico and Argentina are separate search markets, and a link profile built for one does little for the others.— / 100
Does each country version of your site have links from that country?A Mexican page with links only from Spanish sites looks like it was written for someone else.— / 100
Are your Spanish URLs and anchors written with accents and the ñ handled consistently?Dropping a tilde can turn a keyword into a different word, and inconsistent slugs split your signals.— / 100
Is your hreflang set per country, with codes Google reads?Codes like es-MX and es-ES tell Google which version to show; a regional code it ignores leaves the choice to chance.— / 100
Are any of your Spanish links on a .co domain that has nothing to do with Colombia?Google treats .co as a generic ending, so it is the readers, not the domain, that make a link Colombian.— / 100
Do your US Spanish pages have links from Spanish-language media read in the US?The US Hispanic audience has its own outlets, and links from them tell search engines who the page is for.— / 100
Why there is no example card on this page. A page showing a glowing “A” for an unnamed happy client is a picture, not a measurement. The first grade you see from us will be about your own business.

The questions that come up every time.

Should I write one Spanish site or one per country?

It depends on how much your offer changes between countries. If prices, shipping, laws or product names differ, separate versions for Spain, Mexico or the US usually pay off, each with its own hreflang and its own links. If the offer is the same everywhere, one neutral Spanish version with careful vocabulary can work, and the link plan then draws from several countries rather than one. We help you decide before any outreach starts.

Do links from Spain help my Mexican pages?

Some, because they add authority to the domain. But Google and readers both notice that a Mexican page is cited only by Spanish outlets. The vocabulary and the topics on those outlets point at Spain. For a page meant to rank in Mexico, links from Mexican news, Mexican blogs and Mexican directories are the ones that place it in that market.

Do backlinks still matter for Spanish-language SEO?

Yes. They are not the only thing that ranks a page, since content, speed and structure count too, but they remain a major indicator that a page deserves to be shown at all, in Google and in AI answers. Spanish results are crowded in many sectors, and without good links a Spanish page tends to sit behind competitors who have them.

Is a .co domain good for Colombia?

Not on its own. Google treats .co as a generic domain because so many companies worldwide use it as a short alternative to .com. The second-level .com.co is read as Colombian. For links, we judge a site by its readers: a Colombian news site is Colombian whatever its ending, and an English startup blog on .co is not.

Who writes the Spanish articles?

Native authors from the country the outlet serves. A writer from Madrid and a writer from Buenos Aires choose different words for the same thing, and editors on both sides notice. Every article is written to be worth reading without the link, which is what keeps it published and keeps it counting through future algorithm updates.

What about Catalan, Basque and Galician in Spain?

Spain has co-official languages in several regions, and Catalan in particular has a large web of its own. If you sell in Catalonia, Valencia or the Balearic Islands, a Catalan version with Catalan links can reach readers who prefer it. Most businesses start with Spanish and add Catalan where the market justifies it. Our Catalan page covers that side.
