Persian Backlinks for Farsi, Dari and Tajik Readers

For businesses reaching Persian speakers in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan or the large communities abroad. We get the right-to-left text and the look-alike characters right, place native-written articles on outlets Persian readers trust, and plan honestly around blocked platforms and sanctions.

“Persian pages are trusted when Persian news sites, community portals and blogs with real readers cite them.”

No obligation. Tell us what you sell and where, and a person replies.

  • Right-to-left, done right. Persian characters, not Arabic look-alikes, with spacing and digits that native readers expect.
  • Three countries and a diaspora. Farsi in Iran, Dari in Afghanistan, Tajik in Tajikistan, and Persian readers from Los Angeles to Hamburg.
  • Honest about restrictions. Blocked platforms, filtered sites and sanctions shape which outlets and payments are possible.

Start here.

Persian is read across several countries, written right to left, and searched by people who often reach the web through workarounds. The best way to build "Persian backlinks, but better yet, backlinks for your Persian-language site" is to contact us directly. Each of those facts goes into the plan before a single article goes out.

One language, three standards

Persian has three standard forms. Farsi is the standard in Iran, Dari in Afghanistan and Tajik in Tajikistan. Farsi and Dari share the Persian script and their speakers understand each other, though everyday vocabulary, some spelling and pronunciation differ. Tajik is written in Cyrillic, and Russian is common alongside it, so a Persian-script page reaches almost no Tajik readers.

That choice shapes three parts of the work:

  • The pages. A Farsi page for Iranian buyers, a Dari page if Afghanistan or the Afghan diaspora matters, a Cyrillic Tajik page for Tajikistan.
  • The outlets. Iranian, Afghan and Tajik media are separate worlds with separate readers.
  • The hreflang. fa-IR for Farsi aimed at Iran, fa-AF for Dari, and tg for Tajik. Search engines take two-letter language codes, so Dari is tagged as Persian with Afghanistan as the region.

Right to left, and the characters that look identical

Persian runs right to left, with numbers and Latin brand names running left to right inside it. Pages need a proper right-to-left layout, not English templates with Persian text dropped in. The quieter problem is characters that look the same but are not. Persian uses its own ye (ی) and kaf (ک); Arabic has look-alike characters (ي and ك) with different codes. Text pasted from Arabic sources or typed on an Arabic keyboard mixes them.

To a reader the page looks fine. To a search engine, a word spelled with the Arabic ye is a different string from the same word spelled with the Persian one, so the page can miss the searches it was written for. Persian also uses the zero-width non-joiner, the half-space that keeps parts of a word apart without a full gap, and its own digits (۱۲۳). We check all three in your pages and in the articles we place, and we keep URLs consistent, whether you use Persian-script slugs or Latin ones.

There is also Finglish, Persian typed in Latin letters, which people still use in chats, on older devices and in parts of the diaspora. Some searches follow it. Keyword research tells us whether any of your anchors should.

we can scan your Persian pages for Arabic look-alike characters and missing half-spaces before we build links to them.

Searching around the blocks

Iran filters a large part of the foreign web. Many international social platforms and messaging apps have been blocked or restricted at various times, and many people inside the country use VPNs as a matter of routine. The state has promoted domestic search engines and platforms, while Google remains the engine many Iranians reach for. There have also been nationwide internet disruptions, during which sites hosted inside Iran can become unreachable from outside.

That shapes a Persian link plan in practical ways. A link on an outlet filtered inside Iran still counts for search engines, which crawl from outside the country, but fewer readers in Iran may click it. A site hosted only inside Iran may be hard for crawlers to reach during disruptions. And the .ir domain is run inside Iran under local rules, which matters for some businesses and not at all for others. Sanctions also limit which services and payments work with businesses inside Iran. We tell you plainly where any of this affects your campaign before anything is agreed.

The Persian-speaking world outside Iran

A great deal of Persian-language life happens abroad. Large Iranian communities live in Los Angeles, Toronto, London, Germany and Sweden, and Afghan communities in Germany, the United Kingdom, Pakistan and elsewhere. Much Persian-language media is published from outside Iran, and it is read both by the diaspora and, through VPNs, inside the country.

For many businesses the diaspora is the market: lawyers, travel agents, clinics, schools and retailers serving Persian speakers in their own city. They need links from Persian-language community sites, diaspora news outlets and niche blogs read there, plus targeting that lets search engines show the Persian page to readers outside Iran. If you sell in Arabic-speaking markets too, our Arabic backlinks page covers that separately.

Next step

we can review how your Persian pages are targeted, so search engines show them to the diaspora as well as to readers in Iran.

Why links still decide which Persian page is trusted

Every year someone writes that backlinks no longer count. Backlinks still matter no matter the date. Content, speed and structure matter too, and we look at them. But without some really good backlinks, a Persian page will never pop up in search, will not rank and will be drowned out by the competition that has them. Links remain a major indicator that a page should even be looked at by search engines and by AI search, including Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Copilot.

That is why a translated Persian site with only English links stays invisible. The domain may carry good English links, yet no Persian outlet points at the Persian pages, and the anchors are all in English. Search engines see a translation with no Persian readership behind it. Persian pages cited by Persian news sites, community portals and blogs look like part of the Persian web, and search engines rank them above a bare translation.

Persian outlets that pass value

Persian outlets we place with have editors and a real readership, inside Iran where that is practical and abroad where it is not:

  • Persian-language news sites. Domestic and international outlets, where expert articles and features earn a place.
  • Diaspora community portals. Sites serving Persian speakers in North America, Europe and Australia.
  • Niche blogs. Persian writers on technology, health, food, travel, education, immigration and business, an active and long-running blogging culture.
  • Afghan and Dari outlets. News and community sites for Dari readers in Afghanistan and abroad.
  • Directories. Persian business listings in the cities where your buyers live.

Our Persian writers and outlets all meet one standing rule: no spam, and no site unrelated to what you offer. Each article is written by a native Persian author, in Farsi or Dari as the outlet requires.

How a Persian campaign begins

We map who ranks for your Persian searches and who links to them, settle the standard and the audience, then agree topics and match each to an outlet whose readers care. Each link goes into an article Persian readers would value without it, so the profile can hold its ground through Google updates and a hostile competitor's tactics. You get this by working with Get Found directly, with link building as our main service.

Many Persian-speaking buyers also read other languages of the region: our Azerbaijani link building page, backlinks for Armenian-language sites and the Turkish backlinks page cover them. Our backlink building services page sets out the category, the company page on fitting links to your budget explains planning, and our language and niche link service lists the rest. Once you know the Persian searches you want, send them to us with your site address.

The questions that come up every time.

Are Farsi, Dari and Tajik the same language?

They are three standard forms of Persian. Farsi is used in Iran, Dari in Afghanistan and Tajik in Tajikistan. Farsi and Dari are written in the Persian script and are mutually understandable, with differences in vocabulary and pronunciation. Tajik is written in Cyrillic, so a Persian-script page does not reach Tajik readers at all. We match the form to the audience and build links from outlets in that form.

Can Arabic backlinks help my Persian website?

Very little. Persian uses a script based on the Arabic one, but it is a different language, and Arabic-speaking readers cannot read a Persian article any more than an English speaker can read Dutch. Search engines know the difference. Arabic links belong to an Arabic version of your site. Persian pages need Persian links.

How do platform blocks in Iran affect link building?

Iran filters many foreign sites and platforms, and many people inside the country use VPNs to reach them. A link on a site that is filtered in Iran still counts for search engines, which crawl from outside, but readers inside Iran may reach it less easily. We weigh that when choosing outlets, and we balance sites read inside Iran with those read abroad.

Do sanctions affect Persian link building?

They can. Sanctions limit which international services, platforms and payments work with businesses inside Iran, and the rules depend on where you and the outlet are based. We will tell you plainly where that affects a campaign before anything is agreed. Much Persian-language publishing happens outside Iran, which gives a lawful route for many businesses.

Do backlinks still matter for Persian SEO?

Yes. Persian rankings depend on more than links, yet links are still among the plainest signals search engines and AI answer tools read when choosing which Persian pages to show and quote. Persian results for many commercial searches have fewer well-linked pages than English ones, so relevant Persian links can make a visible difference.

Who writes the Persian articles?

Native Persian writers, matched to Farsi or Dari depending on the outlet and the audience, who write in the register the outlet uses. Machine-translated Persian is easy to spot, with wrong characters, missing half-spaces and stiff phrasing, and good editors reject it. A Persian article earns its place only if readers would want it with the link taken out.

Ask yours. The form reaches the people who would be doing the work.
